Sounds like Focus to me. Focus line went back to 6 digit for a while in that 018xxx range, then back to 5 digits like 20xxx.

RockStringBender on the old board had a 1000 with an 018xxx plate.
RSB still around?

Chrome plating is a multistage process.

From pchrome.com:

"Chrome plating involves a long and complex process, beginning with buffing, polishing, cleaning, dipping in acid, adding zinc and copper plating. For show chrome, the process is finished by re-buffing, cleaning and re-dipping, plating added copper, two to three types of nickel plating and finally, the chrome plating."

The chrome has worn off of the raised areas around the stamped characters, exposing the next layer down.

^^My guess would be a 2001 "Focus" Vt-211 or Vt-111.

1985-1986 Japanese ESP-built Focus - looks just like the one on my red 85' slim-banana headstock Kramer Focus 3000 that I've had since 95', and one a classmate had in 98' that was a Banana headstock Focus 1000.
85'? Kramer Focus 3000 (ESP)
85' Kramer Striker 100ST (Samick)
87' Kramer Striker 300ST w/Focus 6000 Neck (W.I.P.)
