Please help me identify this Kramer

Post by anorman » Fri Aug 18, 2023 7:49 pm

Hi All!

I recently acquired what I feel is a late 80's Kramer Baretta. I have virtually no information or background on it. Can anyone shed some light on this model, or any information about it (or point me to some)?

The pickup has obviously been swapped to an EMG. What kind of pickups were in these - Duncan JBs?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks

Nice guitar.

Not that it's relevant to the post, but I've never seen a guitar strung....."backwards"? Interesting. scratch_head

Repaired headstock.

It's actually a relatively common practice on FR equipped guitars...

Unfortunately. :flipa (Just joking around with the opposition here, Anorman. Not direct at you.)

Great color though! Imo.

Great looking maple neck too. Repair looks pretty good. Cool rock machine.

I had a pretty good idea that it was FR-related, since the "bare end" is needed at the tremolo. Saves having to clip the strings. I'd just never seen it before; another learning experience for me! And I think I'll take the "opposition" tag as a compliment, rather than being opposed to it! dielaughing

Not you!! The other members who string their guitars like such. :thumbs

They're pretty fond of the practice, while my political party finds the look mildly unsightly, hence the unchained animosity. :mrgreen

It's a look that's interesting, to say the least. 🤔

I noticed that, also.....plus the gold screw it's attached with.
