It is a 1 off custom... and they fucked it.
I have my doubts about humanity sometimes.

Damn... but might be worth repairing if they would compensate you for it.

Yup weekend ruined, next week also ruined in dealing with it...
I already know... I'm going to have to go to court to get this sorted out. just cuz its fixed doesn't mean its value is fixed. I doubt anyone involved will pay for the repair and the lost value.
I seriously have zero faith the right thing will be done.
I just gotta start planning for the eventual court date and even more bs.
I could use the reverb returns and it could be completely out of my hair. so I am considering that.
Still trying to figure out if the guitar is worth the effort. if I don't keep it... its headed to some sort of broken/returns hell to probably end up as kindling.

Roll the dice.
I would return it. Then maybe think about rebuying it at a sever discount later.
However.
You do run the risk that it will not be repaired correctly by a competent person. For every 1 person capable of repairing the guitar really well, there are 1000's that can't and won't.
The only plus is that it is a black painted neck. So that is easier to make less noticeable.
How much a head stock break devalues a guitar is debatable. I guess that depends on the guitar.
Does a head stock break devalue a 59 Les Paul? Probably not by much.
I think it can devalue this guitar by a minimum of 20%- 40%. Just my opinion.
A more popular model will suffer less devaluation. I see it all the time on Ebay. People buy broken head stock Les Paul's that are unrepaired for only a few hundred dollars under what they sell for new. Which is crazy to me. I used to buy these guitars to repair and resell, but it is impossible to do this now and make any kind of profit. Stupid people are buying these guitars above dealer cost of a new and unbroken guitar.
Now if you take a guitar that is not so popular, and is rare. I have seen these guitars sit and not sell for years. A rare guitar like this is not going to have the largest market. Now that market just got reduced due to the break.
If you love it and just want to play it because it is a bucket list guitar. Then it might be worth repairing and keeping with a substantial discount.
If not. Return it and move on. There are a lot more guitars out there.
If It was a vintage early 80's Hamer Standard. I would say keep it because that is a bucket list guitar. Then again I have always lusted for one of those.

if it wasn't for the damage it would be a very epic guitar. for how big it is its super light.
it would be one of those epic playing guitars. I do want to keep it sorta the reason I purchased it but it really will depend on what is offered to me to keep it and I just deal with it.
it completely fits in with what I collect. It will almost certainly be sent off to hell of some kind if I don't keep it.
its a coin toss as to its future at this point.

There are guys who can make it look like new, basically they will even build a new headstock with scarf joint if needed, I think I recently posted some vids in that broken headstock thread, might be worth a shot.

Personally, I'd make Reverb live up to their promises and not even worry about what the seller wants or is willing to do. It's rough that you really like it and it is badass, I almost bought it, but its not worth your sanity. Just get a full refund and go to the next guitar ;)
