Is this Kramer ZX10 ??

Post by kempotable » Sat May 23, 2020 4:22 am

A Kramer-newbie here.

Recently, I bought a vintage Kramer from Japan but I have no idea which model.

The reason I bought it because I was looking for straight-forward, simple guitar with Rock/Metal vibes to it.

Just one humbucker, one volume knob, fixed bridge (not a fan of Floyd Rose though) and maple fretboard (got too many guitars with rosewoods already).

Here are the photos from the seller.

Banana/hockey stick headstock
No model mentioned at the end of Kramer logo

Gotoh machineheads
I believe my Kramer is made in Japan due to Gotoh machineheads installed?

Serial numbers

Based on my Google search, I believe it's ZX10 maybe? But with maple fretboard instead of rosewood?

Or is it vintage Baretta Special (not the reissue Indonesian-made) if it's ever existed before this?

Any help would be much appreciated! :yourock

Defo a MIJ for Japan market only. Not a korean ZX-10 tho. Can't say I've seen a non-Floyded JK before. scratch_head
Lit on VK shows nothing that I can see. shrug
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

Odd one. Not a ZX10 or Striker so presumably JDM but I've never seen it in any of the literature.
Tommy guitars had this one listed in the sold section as a Focus, it's the closest I've found:
