I know a guy who got a second mortgage on his house in the 1980's because he wanted to buy a 1959 Gibson Les Paul sunburst left handed. RARE as it get's. I think he paid $20,000.00 for it back then. I only know of one other made and Paul Mccartney owns it.
I have held that guitar several times. It is awesome.

Who knows what the future will be. If you had to bet on one guitar from the 1980's to hit those insane prices. This would be it.
There's three lefty Bursts known. McCartney's, John McEnroe's, and the Stroup Burst.

After some quick fact checking, it seems a fourth lefty Burst was discovered around 2006, dubbed ‘the Florida burst’

I haven't seen the guy in a long time he probably sold it. According to some sources at least 4 were made.
I found a video of 2 of them.
