"Fletch Theme" my version of a cover of the OST

Post by KickstartMyHeart » Thu May 25, 2023 8:49 am

Some of you might remember this beauty. I never found the time to properly record something with it and wanted to correct that.

Funny enough the piece is absolutely not really Hairmetal related but I always wanted to do something with this movie score since this imo is "the better" Axel F. Not only one of the funniest movies of this time but graced with the genius score of Harold Faltermeyer. This is a little "If Harry met (no, not Sally - and it was "when" then) Mick" - less funky more "hair-ish shrug .

I sincerely hope I didn't fuck it up too bad. Found a funky royalty free drum track on YT and cut it into shape. The rest is guitar tracks with the FR sig mutt through my Kemper with some SLO profiles from Big Hairy Profiles and Tone junkie as well as some weird ass faux synth profiles I did.

Hope you like it.

I forgot all about that guitar. Such a beauty. That definitely has an 80's soundtrack vibe. Great job on your attempt. :thumbs
I strum, therefore, I can't shred!

I have a vinyl 33 album with this and other popular movie themes on it. Terrific job and thanks for the nostalgia!
I don't usually find a use for this smiley :flipa , but I like so there you have it.

Thnx, this was the Give-away axe a couple years ago and I had the unduly luck of winning it (second time I won after 2012). Body (I think it' alder) was painted by Jon Heinz and the blue really pops. Neck is a Tranny, hardware more or less period correct parts, Slash-Set of Pickups and everything donated by various members and in the end - if memory serves correctly - assembled, wired, and set up by Bruce. Tony sent it over the pond where I could collect an item which he valued very "cautiously" - let's just say it was so reasonable that the VAT and custom's fee didn't amount to more than Tom Sawyer's allowance for painting that fence :whistle .

This is an example of a mutt where all the parts really fit together and resonate quite well. And as we here use to say "it plays like butter" :thumbs .

I'm down to three Kramers and chose wisely (1983 Imp from TJ, 2008 RI from JoeyM and this). I play guitar. I do no longer collect.
