Big hair, ripped jeans & Kramers!

Post by Designbyry » Mon Jan 23, 2023 11:55 am

These guys are from my neck of the woods. They just recently started putting stuff up on the Tube and some of it took me back!
Spotted 2 Barettas and a Vanguard so I had to subject you guys to Naked Zoo! :headbang

If your Guitar goes to 12, your amp only needs to go to 9.

Well I made it 20 seconds into the video. :bs

Are they now senior portable lavatory technicians in your neck of the woods? :007

No clue, but guessing that is 1990 or 1991, and if so, Exhibit X as to the birth of the Seattle Scene. Not knocking them - talented for sure - just done a million times by then.

You have to do like I do and change the playback speed to 1.5x or 2x! It wont make you like it any better, it just sucks for you faster! :headbang

I'm not sure what happened to all of them through the grunge/ numetal years. Their trail of Naked Zoo bumper stickers lasted a good decade in every strip club within a 4 state area though. Their channel has a newer vid from recently, looks like several of them (minus the singer) got back together for some fun.

I think this was '89-90. Absolutely that time where the glitz and glam were starting to wear off, and the 9 song EP with 2-3 power ballad formula had pretty well run its course. I just remember their shows being a blast. They were silly dudes that loved to have a good time, and brought it the same to the stage regardless if it was for 5 or 5000 people.

I didn't think it was that bad. They were way better than the hairband I was in 1989-1991. shrug dielaughing :thumbs

I was still locking myself in my room everyday after school rewinding 5 seconds of tape to figure out how to play (insert 80s metal song here). Luckily for me, my older brother is 5 years my senior and I got a lot of exposure to music and the local music scene well before most of my peers.

And yeah, the Zoo guys had chops, they just really hit at the worst time for that style. A ton of amazing talent got signed and dropped with tornado speed in that 90-93 transition.

These guys were a super tight 3 piece with crazy good production and would have been huge if not for shit timing:

Wow, that was ultra douche chilly. I went way too far, to around 40 seconds, where the singer was gyrating. Can't unsee that though.
