The Kahler cam-based trems offer many options including all steel or alu as extras, so they *can* sound better with those options. But they still have the problem with too much bending of strings where they cross the cam - I had several axes with those trems and the thin e or b would snap at the cam after a week or two of playing, always.
It's a pity because despite less range I like the soft feel of those trems, very usable.

there are some things that Kahler made in the 80s and a mod to the most recent version of the cam trem.
the newer ones have a "stop" screw that will turn them into a reduced pull back or dive only which contacts the body.
and then there is the extremely rare brass stop block. I know of it cuz I seen it in real life. a 4 bolt in brass block in some of the cavities of Dean guitars with a kahler... never seen them in any other brand. its like a horse shoe looking thing with counter sunk screws which the cam portion rests on. I used to have a pic of it on my old computer. these are pretty damn rare. it pretty much is a stop block like a floyd and it will be dive only. the tone however is fuckin insane. every dean I ever picked up with one of these was just completely out of this world. it was shaped like the letter "C" or in a horse shoe at the back of the cavity bolted into the body. some had a rubber strip to keep it from thudding. the only reason I know its not a one off home made thing is I've seen it 3 times in dean guitars.
I own kramers

The Guild is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I’ll be offloading a Kramer here soon. So many Floyd Rose guitars. Plus I also just got an ESP Horizon I’ll do a NGD post for and will likely stick around. Too many guitars
