R.I.P.

Being an American. I don't have much more than a general knowledge of English culture.

I will always remember seeing the Queen from 15 feet away. That was pretty amazing. I was in London in 2005 on vacation. It just happened to be at the same time she was reappointing Tony Blair as Prime Minister. It is a big ceremony. There is a long parade from the Palace to the Parliament building and back.
I thought it was amazing. It was truly a moment in history and I am glad I had the opportunity to experience it. Just an FYI. All those Buffalo hat wearing King's Guards are really armed to the teeth with real weapons. Those King's Guards are not actors. Every 15 feet along the route on both sides of the narrow road was lined with these guards. The guards would face and watch the opposite sides of the road, while every 15 feet an armed police officer would watch the crowds.
I highly recommend to my fellow Americans go visit England at some point in their life. It is an amazing country with which we share a unique and deep history with.

I wish I could have stayed more than a week and seen more of the country. Special thanks to my wife who made me go without her. My last day I celebrated pretty hard in a pub. Then jumped on plane home. Got off the plane and went directly to my wedding rehearsal and dinner. The next day we had our marriage ceremony.
That was quite a memorable week.

I was just talking to a friend of mine from Toronto, Canada, and he said that he wondered how long it will be until all their money gets changed from the Queen to King Charles.
