Different approach by Gibson, giving NAMM a miss and doing a consumer electronics show instead. Good to see some Kramers there.

It could still be a concern that there don't appear to be any new designs? But at least they're on display.

I still say the brand is pretty much dead in the water. Again ... No new models, no brick and mortar availability.
Practice cures most tone issues.

But they are a Sam Ash exclusive! Don't you understand the prestige of being an exclusive? ;)

There are also a couple places in Europe that sell them, and who knows about elsewhere in the world.

But as long as they're being made and some people are becoming owners, then the brand is very viable to those people.

And what passes for "new models" in the guitar industry is pretty much just rolling out the same thing that has been produced since 1958 with an extra bevel on one edge and an extra notch in the headstock. :brow

I have a couple guitars from brands in various states of defunct-ness. They do float my boat, because I'm happy to have them. :D

The basic black and "stormtrooper" Nite-V models show "in stock" on the Sam Ash web site again.

Somehow my previous account I started this thread with became defunct.

Anyhow, I was away from guitar and the Nite-V for a while. When I first received my Nite-V the neck was a bit twisted. (it was a new-old-stock discount purchase through the internet) To mitigate that problem I had to adjust the neck to be bowed with the action really high to reduce some buzzing on the strings. I was eventually going to take it to a local luthier to see if the heel could be reshaped to fix/mitigate that, but I didn't get around to it. (too many hobbies) After a year with the Nite-V stored with really high action like that I finally picked it up again yesterday and reset the neck adjustment to straighten the neck and lower the action and investigate the twist problem...and found that despite a little buzzing the neck doesn't seem nearly as twisted anymore. Hmmm.....puzzled. There is still some buzzing on the low E string at higher frets, but the others are fine with reasonable action and it's worlds better than it was when I first received it. I've been practicing on it for a couple evenings and very happy to be able to use it properly! :band :fly :headbang
