I thought all of the Focus 1000s had a tilted pickup

Nope :nono

The first version of the 1000 was a straight pickup just like the Pacer Special.....

Cool guitar!

Personally, I like the shape of those early Matsu bodies, unusual as they are. Every one of the double-cut Matsu bodies I've ever held has been made of ash (or probably Sen/Japanese ash), and that is a rare wood for a Kramer to have used on other models, so there are some interesting tonal options that also would be unusual for a Kramer.

I agree the neck appears to be an R2 banana neck, so that's a big plus from many folks' perspective.
Scarf joint on the back of neck, or no? I'd love to see the back of the neck including the neck plate.

Curious about the neck pocket - all of those Matsu Kramer bodies that I've seen have a slightly wider neck pocket - more like 2 1/4, and USA necks obviously will go in there but could benefit from some shimming. Wondering if you encountered any issues with that? I've been meaning to build one up with a first-year Indo Baretta Special neck, as those also had wider neck heels, so it's cool to see what it might look like based on your example.

Nice project!

Does your guitar have a recessed output jack, barrel output jack, or is the output jack mounted in a plate?
It it is plate mounted, what shape is the plate?

Which manufacturer used a recessed barrel output jack with no plate?
That was ESP with their first run of Focus immediately after the move from Matsu, although it didn't last long like that.
