I guess there always have been only two of them red SM-1s in the first place. Both to spread the word about the "GREAT NEW THINGS TO COME IN 2017" on FB and here. Come to think of it, it might have been the same specimen in both cases :roll .

Kramer marketing - it always amazes me :brow . Talking about lowering the bar - oops that´s the title of the new SP album; don´t think satchel played his Kramers on it but then who knows ... shrug - sad but true, it´s pathetic.

I'm sure it didn't help that Kramer's biggest name was in an comedy 80s band, making Kramer look like a comedy 80s brand.

I'm sure Gibson must have thought it was a good idea at the time.

A brand with a long history of mismanagement, is still being mismanaged......................................

I certainly would have liked to see a big name player endorsing the brand. Satchel may have appealed to those of us from the 80's (or maybe not) but not many else. :yikes
83 Pacer Deluxe - Red
84 Baretta - Red (work in progress)
86 Baretta - Black
86 Baretta - Flip Flop Blue
88 Baretta II - Metallic Blue
84 Focus 4000 - My First.

Shout out to all my Kramer bros....hoarding may become a good thing :bananahead .....I wonder if Gibson/Fender guys said that in the 60s :alien

I'm okay with the Gibson/Kramer line going down or goin to another manufacturer....it could only get better. I do believe that another manufacturer such as ESP/LTD could do it justice, but on the other hand, why would they....most models have been covered or improved upon for the modern guitarist. Kramer being such a HUGE part of my musical past, and present, it does sting to think they will be gone, just makes me appreciate even more what I have from THEIR past :fly :fly

Limited market I guess...I could do with another Pacer Classic; I had one I got cheaply and moved it on due to GAS for something else (is there any other reason, LOL). I might just scan the GC pages and pick one up again. Two hundred something plus shipping used is a hell of a deal on those...

I like the guy. He loves his 80's music. Seems like I hear that a lot of people don't like him. He seems like a good person to me. Family man too. I can't spend tons of cash on a guitar either. As for Kramer/Gibson might be going out of business, I'll be sad to see it go. Three years ago I bought a Kramer Pacer Classic. I love the guitar. Took me a while to get used to the neck but now it's my favorite.
