Kramer Pacer Stud Size

Post by FastEddieVH » Sun Aug 19, 2018 9:59 pm

Hello all. This is my first post. (Go easy on me. Lol!) I am in the process of upgrading my Pacer Classic. I actually purchased a used Pacer Vintage to strip the parts. My plan was to swap the neck for the better tuners and for chrome hardware. My plan kinda failed. First of all, the Vintage neck is much more “chunky”. Second of all the chrome nut will not fit my Classic. Third of all, the chrome posts on the vintage are larger than the Classic. Anyway, my question(s) is this, does anyone know what size stud posts are in the Classic and if so, where can chrome ones be purchased. Also does anyone know where I can purchase a chrome nut that would fit a Classic? I called Kramer and they were nice enough to send me a chrome nut but it doesn’t fit. Thanks so much in advance.

Pull the posts and replace them with Schaller ones? You'll need 10mm holes for the OFR posts, so it may involve some minor drilling work. Classic has a cheap knock-off floyd, I dunno what nut they used but someone will probably know since several guys here have those.

Oh and welcome :toast

Welcome.

Why would you like to strip the better guitar of its parts to outfit a lesser one with them shrug ?

Anyways, the Pacer Vintage has an FRT1000 MIK while the Classic has a cheap knock-off like XXX said. That being said, I bought an OEM FRT1000 to upgrade my Classic a couple years ago and it was a perfect fit. I just let the studs where they were and swapped the Floyd.

But again, it seems like you have a mid-level guitar and try to strip it for an entry level one. That makes little sense from my perspective. If you don´t like the more chunkier neck of the Vintage, just swap the neck of the Vintage for the Classic neck since the neck of the Classic is the very best part of the whole guitar in my opinion.
Practice cures most tone issues.

This gives you the nut specs you need to see what matches yours:

They used to be rear mount R3s I believe.
