All the ones that we've gotten have been the same. The only complaints ever are set up related. But we do that to most guitars when they arrive. Cut the strings and re-do. After a set of 9's go on the Swans are bliss. I'm pretty impressed with them.

I agree with Swantech’s review. Out of the box, bending strings had that “old scratchy dull fret” feeling. Also, I use 11’s on some guitars, but 10’s on the swan were unplayable for me. I removed the strings and polished the frets up with gorgamyte and put 9’s on. Much better. The JB in the bridge sounds good, with both pickups on, or just the middle, it sounds muddy.

I didn’t think my original Nightswan was the greatest guitar in the world. I liked my 86 Stagemaster and 86 Baretta better. BUT, the original swan did have “mojo” and I regretted selling it. The new swan is built really well, but it’s not “lively”. I’ve had it since early February, but I wanted to get some playing time in before I passed judgement. It’s not a bad guitar at all. I wouldn’t say “it plays like buttah “ though.

Get rid of that pot and the treble bleed caps and the guitar sounds like it should. Kick A$$.
