Jk-2000 body wood ?

Post by ThoTru » Thu Nov 16, 2017 5:52 am

Hello folks.

Does anybody know what kind of wood was used in the JK series, specifically the 2000's? Ive found different answers and some say that most of the JK's are plywood, which i want to avoid.

Defo not ply.
Asian adler or maple IIRC.
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

That sounds awesome, almost any wood but plywood will do.

I dont know if this link will work, but this is the body i have been looking at. CAR jk 2000.

I cant find any mention of the jk series back at vintage kramer, i thought that was the go-to website for kramers.

I bought me a set of used EVH wolfgang humbuckers and thought i might try out a dual humbucker guitar :viking :band :viking

At the bottom of this page it says alder for the JK1000. None of the other literature seems to cover it. VK is great for the US stuff but doesn't really cover the Japanese guitars, certainly not the JDM stuff.

If that´s the body in question, you already have the answer that this is no plywood. Looks like alder.

On a side note: If you paste the picture´s adress between the IMG-brackets it will show shrug .
