On a side note, Schallers will work just fine with a regular ring because they also have a hole in the middle, you only lose the possibility to set the tilt but then who really needs that. Duncan Trembuckers also have three holes per side and can also be used in a Schaller ring with 4 screws.

I have a Schaller 2in1 from a Focus 6000, has the same ring.
The center hole is drilled but not threaded so needs 4 screws.

I have five of those here and the middle hole is threaded in all of them from the factory shrug
