Kramer ID Help

Post by jmwhite » Fri Jan 19, 2018 4:21 pm

Hi,
I need some help identifying a Kramer I just picked up off of craigslist.
It's definitely a project guitar (was pretty beat up) but the owner said is was a made in the USA kramer.
I am very skeptical but I got her cheap and it would only be a bonus if it happened to be a USA.

I've been doing as much research as I could but can't officially figure anything out... see the pictures and the serial number on the attachments. The serial # is 85120143
The neckplate is chrome and says Neptune, NJ USA
(Although I know that doesn't necessarily mean made in USA)

It has grover tuners and a german made floyd rose tremolo (chrome).
Black finish on body... the headstock is covered by a snakeskin cover... I can take the snakskin off if it is necessary to determine whether it is a USA kramer via logo style identificaiton. Let me know if anyone can help.

Let me know if the pictures don't show up.

Serial # sounds like a early striker made in 85. (85 at the beginning)
Use imgbb.com to upload pics then post links here.
Welcome.
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

Indeed, Grover tuners came stock on those early Strikers, from what I've seen, and I believe also a German NFT Floyd.
SO many projects, so little time!
