What do you mean by "neck seems sanded down"? Like in "ruined" or just like "smoother"?
The neck feels great and is smooth, there's no finish on it. I assume someone sanded it and removed it, along with the logo (sadly). The thing plays great and keeps me from buying a strat because it meets my needs. The fret board needs to be cleaned but otherwise it's in good cosmetic shape. Previous owner putKnob-ease on it and I seemed to have lost one. I'm hoping I can find it in one of my gear bins. If not, they are reproducing them but they do look different. I kind of fell in love with them naturally from doing volume swells on this thing. I can't get this guitar to go out of tune which I love. I can whammy the strings until they go completely slack and still be in tune. I love it. I've had the guitar since around 2001-2002... I'm kind of rediscovering it as I moved on to other guitars. I don't think I'll ever give this one up. It outplays its monetary value for sure IMO.

I really appreciate you guys having a look at it and helping me identify it. It's great that there is a resource out there like this because Kramer was very inconsistent back in the day....

Now I need to look under the pick guard and identify which SD pickups are in it. The neck and middle pickup aren't anything special but the bridge pickup sounds great...

I think it might be an older 80's pacer because it looks like the pick guard had a hole in it (between the tone knobs) for the bridge pickup coil taps:

Or could it simply be an newer pick guard on an older pacer? Maybe that's what Kramer had laying around at the time?

Nothing Kramer about this PG.
Practice cures most tone issues.

Yep, Kramer never used multi-ply guards.
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

Thanks for taking a look at it. I'm guessing the PG was replaced when the PU's were swapped. What a shame.
