so an update on the build.

just ordered a shit ton of parts to get this finished up.

Black with Gold hardware confirmed. I'm using my last NOS gold floyd to build this. was one in the black kramer floyd boxes, totally mint. so far I have just about everything. going with Dimarzio SDS-1 Neck and Mid with gold poles, Bridge will be a Seymour Duncan Custom shop no logo Screamin Demon with gold poles.

Still trying to source the back plate for this as the cavity cover is sorta late kramer and not too common. Might have to make one myself. I won't be drilling for a tremolo back cover, I'll leave it open. Brass Block, Red Springs, Brass Claw already on their way.

This thing is going to be one sexy bitch.

I have a set of those SDS-1's that I put in a very late '89 Custom I along with a Breed and I love them. They are very dark for singles, but high output and smooth - it's really a unique sound and the whole guitar just sounds incredibly thick and beefy sounding. Probably too smooth for hair metal type stuff, really its own sound. I like the Screamin Demon and think that would also be an excellent fit with the SDS-1's.

One thing about them, maybe doesn't apply to you, but I had to mount mine slightly awkwardly. The routes on my late 89 body have the little "stair step" that fits a duncan SSL-1 or similar, and the SDS-1's magnet on the bottom is much much larger than that and it doesn't quite fit. Idk if it'll be a problem for you, just something interesting I noticed. I got mine to work by mounting them so that they lean a little bit... it looks fine from the front but they are at probably a 30° angle tilted from the strings.

The interior of the neck/single route goes like this "----------______________________________________------------" if that makes any sense.
Too many to list now...
Always looking for maple pointies, especially bound headstocks.

just gotta check the fitment when they arrive but if there is some extra wood in the way I can adjust that. the body is NOS and there are no holes in any of it so I already have to do the post installment (wood screw type) and then the pickup ring and control cavity cover holes.
