84 Kramer Pacer Imperial

Post by Pcruis1 » Mon Dec 03, 2018 10:11 am

My signature line needs to be changed as I shipped a beautiful blue 84 Pacer Imperial to a new home this morning. It was my favorite Kramer in terms of appearance, but I just didn't play it much. Hopefully the new owner will put it to good use and play it!

It was a beauty. Played great, but it didn't get much action, so it had to go. I think someone on the old board owned it at one time. Probably the best looking pacer I've owned. It's been replaced by the blue strat I posted earlier. Honestly, the strat is a better player.

However it plays, that is a fine example of what Kramer offered in 1984. Authentic Kramer 1984 Guitars.

Of course even though its an authentic Kramer Neptune New Jersey guitar, and probably sold by Kramer NJ to a USA Kramer dealer/music store, it is a parts guitars. I mean that the body was manufactured by ESP and the neck was made by another sub-contractor for Kramer. The K factory put the guitars together from parts at Kramer NJ as many of you know.

Can anyone tell me if thats a LaSiDo Neck or a Sports Connecticut neck?
LOL

That was a lasido neck. What you are saying is true of pretty much every Kramer. Still . . . . a beautiful guitar, and played like a champ.

What the problem is?

Did this come out of Neptune as-is or no?

Seller- what did it sell for?

Not sure what the problem is. I think comment b4 mine was simply an observation that kramers were parts guitars insofar as they took parts built elsewhere and assembled them in NJ. Technically, that is correct. But it was not a parts guitar as we typically use that phrase. I have built a parts guitar Kramer with an 83 beak and an 86 body, but the blue one that sold on reverb was not a parts guitar.

I have a Pacer similar to that but in trans red. It is sitting in a case as I prefer playing my other Kramers at the moment, especially my Japanese ones. It is definitely not a parts guitar if it came out of the factory that way, or else every guitar that has ever out is a parts guitar if you look at it that way. You cannot fault that Pacer for its looks... it looks great and congrats to the new owner. :headbang
