It ended up here dead

Here's the backside of humbucker coils that came out of the 3000
I used to clean the base plates but I am loving the patina look
of this puppy. I think its like a cymbal just leave it alone never clean them. It's got a real vintage look.

Here's the neck sitting in body for a visual
Blue head stock and red body
Sure look horrible
BTW I wasn't checking continuity with the voltage checker
it just happens to be on bench cause I was changing a light switch out in the house. I used my Fluke 87V and a craftsman multi-meter to double check to make sure it was dead before nuking it. There's some stupid truth in the old saying
"Lets take the motor apart to see why its running so good"
Scale length is bang on. Wish I had not plug doweled the Kahler holes, it would have been drop in ready for the Floyd
At the time I had different plans for body.
I'd use the Kahler Spyder but it needs to be inset into a swimming pool if not then the neck needs to be shimmed into outta space. Was gonna light the router up and hog the shit out of it but after spending some time flipping through the Kramer disaster thread I put the router away and had to give my head a shake

Here's one I am messing with right now
it plays sweet. Going to trash out chinese electronics
and go with custom Fender texas specials or run it with
seymour 58 hum in bridge and 2 seymour hotrails in mid and neck. Not sure what to do here either. What do think?
Bridge is gonna get a full size trem block and graphite saddles from another frankenstien guitar I own

I'd go with a Pearly Gates and two Texas Specials :thumbs

As for the other one above, just drill 10mm holes again where you doweled it and you're good to go for the OFR inserts.

_xxx_ wrote:I had several later models pointy foci which were definitely nato. The beak Foci I had were all made of some soft alder which crumbled after a few years and as said one was maple. Those are just the ones I had, dunno about the rest. Of those, pointies certainly had the worst wood and the sound was like cardboard.

I only once had an alder Pacer (83 beak Imp), the rest were all maple, including the 85 deluxe body I recently bought. I always thought alder bodies were rather rare compared to maple?
All of my foci are alder except for the 83. Go figure...
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

Thanks _xxx_
I appreciate your advice on the pearly gates and specials
That was definitely something I was not considering
although I definitely like the single coil sound but always like
the hot rod super strat sound of the bridge humbucker
The one thing that always leaves me guessing is what is the best pot value for the single/single/hum 250K or 500K. I usually use the 500k whenever a humbucker gets involved. And coil tapping a humbucker never really gives you that true single coil sound. I would probably be happiest to use a Baretta body with single hum
just clean and simple. getting a little off topic here but appreciate response

for the strat syle Kramer

Red Body
No its from Quebec Canada LaSiDo custom 1 off
special order that was never picked up by person who ordered it from Steve's Music in Toronto. Managers sick of looking at it sale
is what the tag read. Heavy as shit definitely wouldn't want to stand playing this for 2 hours straight

Hey _XXX_
Drill OFR post holes at 10mm
is that pretty much the Floyd specs on the holes
I was gonna use ball mics but wood is a little more forgiving than steel and harder to get a true diameter reading
Thanks I was thinking about the drill hole size briefly as I was pondering what I wanted to do
