Not a total disaster but somewhat ruined focus 3000

Guy painted it blue and left the logo taped off with the original red. What should I do Wipe all paint off repaint red and use fresh decal? Save original Kramer logo and paint all the blue Red? Or Keep as is and live with this horrid looking spilt dog shit mess? Next mess is the routed body cavity not all that bad but not all that good either. Question is use the original 3000 Body (paint job is somewhat professional) with the spilt dog shit looking head stock? or go red and use this candy apple red 80'sLaSiDo custom alder body I bought like 30 years ago at Steve's music in Toronto. The 3000 body isn't plywood but its some what light weight, composite? Asswood? I think it was a 3000D because of the 2 wire dimarzio humbucker. Its got a date with the sewing machine winder I gotta dig out of the shed. She's got no continuity in either coil. That pickup has gotta pre date the 3 wire duo sound I got that's from back in the 70's. Anywho here's the picks not quite as disturbing as the swedish mods check the price tag at pawnshop pic it states Modded Kramer Should have read ruined Kramer. I definitely did not pay that sticker price not even close. Told the dude that it was for parts and offered him a yard out the door. He took it and I am gonna probably re fret it with the stainless fret wire I got laying around, the neck is sweet but got played lots.

Re-fin the HS in blue & re-logo. Call it done.
Need more pics.
Welcome aboard.
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

Let a pro refinish just that part of the headstock and add a new decal or just let him refinish the front incuding decal and all.

A full refin is a bit too much, after all it's "just" a focus and the investment should not be higher than what it's worth, unless it's some personal piece.

The bodies were usually either nato (grain/structure a bit like mahogany) or some sort of non-US alder. I've even seen a maple F2000, but only once so far.

:nono Most were alder along with US counterparts.
Gibby era focus used cheaper nato.

I had several later models pointy foci which were definitely nato. The beak Foci I had were all made of some soft alder which crumbled after a few years and as said one was maple. Those are just the ones I had, dunno about the rest. Of those, pointies certainly had the worst wood and the sound was like cardboard.

I only once had an alder Pacer (83 beak Imp), the rest were all maple, including the 85 deluxe body I recently bought. I always thought alder bodies were rather rare compared to maple?

outrageous price tag
k ramer mod focus 3000
key word mod that's short form for wrecked I think
apparently that makes it worth more money
the single coil wires were not even stripped and were taped to the backside of pick guard and the dimarzio was not even soldered to the tone and vol pot. they were twisted together not to mention the pickup didn't even work. Funny I never even plugged it in didn't really care about the functioning order of the axe. I bought it for the 17xxx serial plate (mint shape) the Banana headstock Neck and the Made in Germany Floyd

Here's the Candy apple red Alder body
Dropping in random pickups to get an idea of what
It would end up looking like
I have that parker humbucker (pictured)
thats a tele p/u in the neck pocket
Got a EMGHZ passive hum I might use
Be nice to rewire the dimarzio use it
I was hoping that the singles were alnico
but they turned out to be 5.09 K ceramic
real thin sounding I am sure
probably gonna coil tap the hum on/off switch
on/off toggles for singles
put blade swich in to fill the holes
run 1 volume pot
