Did you ever.....

Did you guys ever have a guitar that you felt took your playing to the next level? I recently found a Carvin DC135 while scouring the internet, and this thing just feels right. It’s pretty beat, but to be honest, it feels more broken in than anything. The specs on this thing are ridiculous for what I paid for it, All Maple Body, 1 piece neck, Ebony Board, Abalone Block Inlays, 24.75” scale, oh ya, that little part about being made in the U.S.A....Anyway, I feel a serious connection wuth this guitar and just wanted to open it up to others who have found or rediscovered their abilities and love for playing guitar in a certain instrument. Maybe share a pic or two. Here is mine, likely the best guitar purchase I’ve ever made...

Ohh, a really old "metal" version of the DC, love it :headbang

Is that the good ole Kahler "Steeler" floyd?

Two new Carvins here in the forum today and I was just recently watching several in evilbay... Carvin season. People thinking "Grab them while you can" I guess, since they're not made in that great design anymore...

It’s actually an Original Floyd. Flush mount, non recessed. Ya this thing is super heavy. I agree, I’m not in love with the “classy looking ones”, I still prefer my Floyded, lawsuit headstock beater. Get em while you can!

Nice old school Carvin! I love those 80s headstocks a lot.

My RG7620 was the guitar that got me back into playing. I took a five year hiatus and got a raise at work. With the extra money I just bought that Ibanez on a whim, and it really drew me back in. Here's the pic of it and my new Carvin I put in my NGD post.

Yes, I believe it got yanked because they were being sued by Jackson.

Very cool Queen Beef. Did you custom order the Carvin? Or find it available on the web somewhere?

I know they later used their regular headstock (sharp version of the DC hs) just tilted sideways, that looked absolut badass IMO. This:
