Hey guys! Just found this forum as I have been reminiscing about a Kramer I had in the early 90s. I bought a body and neck in the "going out of business sale" in Neptune. Then had someone finish the guitar. A black Floyd Rose was installed, one "PAF" pickup, and a volume knob...etc.

All I can remember is the body was orange from the factory, was routered for only an angled humbucker, neck was non bound, headstock was black with large Kramer logo. I have no idea whether it was a Focus, Pacer, Baretta body...etc. I remember the body was "blocky", not curvy and sexy...Lol

I'm looking to recreate that guitar. Look forward to your ideas and help figuring out which body/neck I had if possible. And also look forward to enjoying the rest of the forum.

Ahoy there! What you are describing sounds like either a Baretta-II body or a F-1000. The latter would have a recessed Floyd rose route, but I wonder if those would have been involved in the fire sale simply because those were Made in Japan models.scratch_head Factory orange would have been killer. Any pics whatsoever of the guitar in question?

Here is some info about Baretta models:

Unfortunately no, I don't have any pics. In my 20s I went through guitars like underwear for some reason. Not even sure what I traded it for...or why!

Appreciate the leads you offered. I'll look in that direction and see what happens. Thanks!

Welcome aboard.
Yes it does sound like you had a retta II with its soloist type sharp cornered body.
:worthless
But let's face it, someone buys a Kramer b/c it has a Floyd.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

So it looks like it indeed was a Baretta II body. I guess what I always thought was orange, is FF Red? Man that thing sure looks orange in my head/memory...Lol

So I learned by lurking the forum last night, that the reason the pickup was angled was due to the Floyd Rose bridge/pickup lining up issue. So I can choose to replicate that look or not (I think I will).

I know of Warmoth, any other guitar body/neck companies out there I can look into?

Yes the Floyd bridges were Fender spaced or F spaced. Most humbuckers at the time were Gibson spaced.

With Kne you can either do the Baretta II "boxy" soloist body or you can do more old school curves....the sky is the limit. Looks like with warmoth, similar theme, only much deeper pockets needed. :whistle
