MarsMountain Faux Tele Build

Post by marsmountain » Sat Mar 14, 2020 9:21 pm

So I decided to build a guitar with my company logo painted on the body to hang in my office at work. This guitar will look like a functional telecaster, but won’t have any pickups and therefore won’t be wired. She will be wall art.

I cut the body this afternoon and in true Kramer Striker form, I used birch plywood.

I've got an Indo Squire strat neck that is unusable due to a twist. You can have it if you want it. Super easy to cut down a strat headstock into the shape of a tele. It's a little rough from being on my porch for a while, but it would probably clean up alright.
SO many projects, so little time!

Classic II red Tele
a few other sweet ones!!
some lumies & Spectors
buncha projects that'll eventually get done
some that won't

Thanks very much for the offer Doc, but I’ve got an old Epi LP neck that I reshaped to look more Spector-ish. The neck pocket on this body is already cut to fit that neck.

Thanks again. :thumbs

Painted the body today - complete with faux binding. Now she will hang for a week to let the paint cure and then the wet sanding fun begins. :thumbs
