I forgot to post a pic because I got a bunch of toys in the mail yesterday and got carried away feeling like a little boy at xmas. Regarding P90's, I have no argument there...except that I was planning on throwing a gold covered set into a mahogany takamine gx guitar I have, so I dont know if I want two such similar setups. I catch your point regarding the output and frequency response. I guess to rephrase my query I'll say I am looking for a good set of pickups for rock and rock, not metal. My guitar from what I understand is basically a fender les paul, it has a carved maple top on a set neck mahogany everything else..so what sounds good in a les paul should sound good in mine. And yes, fender spacing for sure.
Listen to the Bare Knuckle Rebel Yell pickups. Amazing sounding for a mahogany/maple top guitar. You can order them in the wider trem spacing. I have 2.
One is in my Spector Blackhawk, and the other is in my Kramer Glide C2.
I will be buying more in the future.

To be totally honest I kind of like it not having one. To me this guitar is exactly what I want as a super strat alternative. It’s simple, stays in tune no matter what I do, has a super comfortable neck and is really comfortable to play. I mess with pretty well every guitar I have, I’m leaving this one alone (other than pickups and the horrid stock tuners). Routed my takamine gx100t to accept a Floyd and 10 years later I put a stop tailpiece on it. I won’t make that mistake again.

I looked into the rebel yell pickups, but they are out of my price range. I looked on reverb and the like and a set is still going ot be 400-500 dollars. I went onto the used classifieds in my province and found a good selection of used seymour duncans. There is a set of APH1 bridge and neck but standard spacing...several JB's (I like the sound of my JB in the baretta so I wouldnt mind that) but I found a full shred for 50 CAD (thats like 40 US or something), so I think I'm going ot get that for the birdge, unless I find a matched set of pups somewhere else.

May be you should consider Joe or Sergej advice first. Full Shred works fine with a mahogany body / mapple neck combination. I didn't saw your pictures before. Now I can see it's a full mahogany guitar. Not the same configuration.

Regardless of brand, good pickups are usually at least $50 a piece used. Won't get much lower than that.

So the guy has a full shred pair. I think 90 bucks Canadian for the pair is good, no? They got pulled from a charvel. Would they not sound bright enough for an all mahogany axe?
