Hey everyone, I need a pair of pickups for my takamine gx100t. I want low output humbuckers with nice vintage tone. I can get a pair of ibanez super 58's in gold (which is perfect for my application) or I noticed stew mac has their own line of pickups called "golden age" that are apparently golden 50 clones. the stew mac ones will cost a bit more as they are in the states and whatnot and they are brand new...but has anyone used either? the super 58s are coming from a 2002 artcore custom explorer guitar, I believe they were using ceramic magnets until about 2009 in those pickups, but apparently they are ibanez's version of the PAF.

from some quick googling, the pickups from the ibanez are "super 58 custom"

Haven't tried that one, but I've yet to see an Ibanez pickup worth trying.

Do you just want a guitar that works or do you want serious pickups? Popular quality PAF types are DiMarzio PAF, Duncan '59, Gibson 490T/490R, for a bit more growl you can try Duncan Pearly Gates.

If you're just looking for cheap pups, try one of the GFS "PAT" types or "VEH" (VH copy), those are quite nice for the money: https://www.guitarfetish.com/Humbucker-Sized_c_578.html

I want decent pickups for a knockaround guitar. 90% of my time at home playing i'm straight into the amp just noodling and want something warm and decent sounding. i dont have a lot of cash, so price is important. I'll be putting a jb into my baretta, which will sound good for that purpose as well, so price is kind of important here. I'd like to keep it under 100 CAD all in for a set of pickups
