Another good tidbit on the oil finish. I was already thinking about throwing some coats of oil on it after I got the neck a more thorough cleaning. That just confirms what I gotta do. 8)

I'm really impressed with this one. I can't wait until I get the USACG neck on the green Pacer Imperial and finally get the Voyager all back together for the first time since I've had it. This Pacer Deluxe is going to be the guitar to beat! He sounds sweet and is quite a handsome young man, too.

I cleaned up the neck with some murphys oil soap and some wood bleach (think it had oxalic acid???). Then I put on some coats of danish oul, and I can't be happier with the results on the FB! The back still has dirt in the pores, but it's no biggy for me. 8)

Also, and im pretty sure the body is poplar on this one. The wood in the neck pocket has a greenish tint, and it just doesn't feel near heavy enough to be maple.
