Hey guys,

Im new to the kramer forum and have only been a kramer maniac for six months.

This might be blasphemous, but i am considering putting a original neck on my kramer 84.

Any tips for replacing a neck? And especially, putting old necks on new guitars?

Thanks!

Do whatever you want with your stuff but it will hurt any resale value.
Heel & pocket sizes will differ.

If you are thinking of putting a beak neck on the 84, effectively making a Pacer Special, I'd say go for it. You've just got to check the width of the neck heel is the same. If it isn't it's not worth the effort.

Chances of the screw hole lining up are slim so you'd have to dowel and redrill them.

84 has little resale value, an american neck would rather raise it. If the width of the neck pocket fits (old Kramers were 56mm, or just short of 57mm if R5 neck), go for it. Dowel and redrill will certainly be a must.
