First off..I did search first...lol.
Does anyone know how to decipher the Gibson Kramer serial numbers? And are these made in the Samick Korea plant? (for the "high end" lol ones) Anyone have an idea?

I'm talking about current Gibson Kramer Baretta's and Korean Kramers from now.

Yes, for sure the current stuff is coming out of the Epi plant in Korea.

Are the Korean Epiphones made at Samick in Korea? Or does Gibson have their own plant dedicated to Epiphones like it does in China? Now we're getting really specific..lol

From what I know, Yo '84 also came from Korea and were only assembled in the US, bare the handful of handmade expo-parts.

May I ask why you want to know the detail about the serials to begin with? there are no high-value parts among those anyway, in that sense it's quite irrelevant.

The Pacer Classics and the rest of the low level models come from Indonesia, some other models like the new 84s and the Satchel or Vintage labeled models come from Korea.

I'm just curious because the quality on the Gibby Kramer Baretta's I recently bought wasn't quite up to what I expected from a Korean made guitar. I was just wondering what company made them in Korea.
In the past I have owned Samick made guitars and I wanted to know if it was made by the same company. My guitars are for my own enjoyment and I don't care about what they are worth. A well made asian made guitar is more valuable to me than a poorly made USA made guitar and vice versa...

I was aware of what country they were all made in. I was interested in if anyone knew what company made them in Korea. I kinda feel the Indonesian made Kramers may have a more consistent quality than the Korean ones. Indonesian made guitars are pretty high in workmanship considering most of the guitars from there are supposed to be lower level models. I think Ibanez has a factory there where they make some mid level guitars in their line and the quality looks really good.

Quite certain those were being made in the Epi factory, so same kind of "quality" there.

Indonesian workmanship is really good, but the wood used in those is just firewood of awful quality. I just sold my indonesian Hamer, which was perfectly built but had zero tonal qualities.
