Hey y'all, brand new member here. Followed the old site for a few before finding my way here.
Played an old strat through a Marshall forever...Trower, blues, SRV...that kinda stuff. Then rediscovered my George Lynch/Dokken/80's rock passions and decided to get myself an 80's Rock Machine.
Long story short, after almost making a "mistake" at GC with an overpriced Aerostar XZ30H (ZX?) I found a home for a Focus 6k. Price was perfect for me, but it does have issues that bug me, but that will soon be rectified.
As I've discovered with many, many Kramers, the OFR was removed and replaced with a cheap knockoff. I'll be in the market for an upgrade soon. Not a new one, I don't want to pay more than i did for my Kramer! It seems the OFR's that were removed for resale are on ebay for $150- $200?
The neck is fantastic, minimal fret wear....but still some tuning instability with this LFR.
Well gotta go, need to practice those pinch harmonics and two handed tapping!
Cheers all.

Welcome to the addiction. One is never enough.
Great looking 6K!!
The OFRs from the 80's do run in that price range but those are bullet proof. Well worth the investment.

Looks good to me :thumbs

The new Schaller-branded OFR's called "Lockmeister" are quite a bit cheaper (at least over here in Europe) and exactly identical to the OFR. Basically they just stamp their logo instead of the Floyd Rose one.

Bacon had one with a fair price listed in the Klassifieds.....Might see if he still has it.

Straight up guy that I will personally vouch for.

Welcome aboard. Nice Kramer.
I notice the nut clamping blocks are the wrong way round. A double locking Floyd Rose II or a FR special would be cheaper options and probably do a better job than the trem that's fitted.

Thanks for the welcomes guyz!
1) figger out how to add an avitar from my pics. It always tells me they are too large a file. I only have a smart phone...no computer.
2) I could only post one pic in my original post? I tried to add more and nuthin' happened? Will try to add more here.
Under the locking nut (removed) it's stamped "made in Germany "....original?
My plastic spring cover plate has a nifty hatch door in it...for easy access to the spring/claw compartment. A sticker on the backside of it says "made in Japan ". I've never seen that on any Kramer...unusual?
I've replaced the bucker with an old Dimarzio SD. The oem was not labeled or marked in any way. Both single coils were non functional....no dc resistance.
YES! Good catch on the string camps...I would not have noticed that. I've been playing it in a non locked mode so far. Have to switch back to 10's....these 9's have no meat and go sharp when I fret them, lol.

Pictures need to be loaded to a 3rd party hosting site and then linked here.

I am not Facebook and cant afford the bandwidth this place would take up by hosting picture files.

I added the attachment feature so that kramerlefty could upload his Ferrington registry. It was never intended to be a picture link feature.

Welcome, sir. I love the Focus line and the CARs (candy apple red) are definitely attractive.
