My first "real" guitar was a Focus 1000. Bought it in 1985 at Miller's Music in Atlanta, paid $330, which I remember

Did they have American Kramers in that shop? Or elsewhere that you've been to in this time period? It must have been so cool to see Kramers being sold in a music store back then...

Just came across some old pics of these early 1000's I used to have. The white one was spectacular and definitely the one guitar I regret selling the most.

For sure! I remember the top row hanging on the wall behind the counter was all USA Kramers - I would just stare up at them like imagining being able to walk on the moon or something. They were about 3x or 4x the price of the Focus ones if I recall correctly. Miller's Music was sort of a discount shop if I recall, but they still usually had 6 or 8. There was another shop just off the square in Buckhead that had many more - probably twenty USA Kramers lined up on the uppermost wall rack at any given time. I remember being in there around 85 or 86 and it was the first time I ever had seen a flip-flop paint job - mind blown!!!

BTW, a Focus-specific website would be pretty cool!
