'86 JK 1000 opinion's, is it a good guitar ?

Post by Booyaagrandma » Mon May 11, 2020 7:23 pm

I'm new to Kramer but have always wanted one since I started to play in the 80's.
Looking at an '86 JK 1000 and wanted to see what people thought of them ?
Whats a fair price to pay for one right now ?
They had a 14'' radius FB ?
Was there a 'Good' year for the JK's ?
Thanks :0)

Great guitars, basically a Japanese market Baretta, no real best era, I've had both nanner & pointy headstocks, all good :thumbs

The only thing you may want to do (if it already hasn't been done) is upgrade the pup & trem, then go rock the shit outta it :headbang
'85 Retta, Black
'86 Retta, White
'88 Retta I, White, maple board
'88 Retta I, White, reverse headstock
'88 Sustainer, Champagne
'14 Pacer Classic, White, modded
'19 Nightswan, Blue polka dot
And lots of Lesters :mrgreen

From what I've heard and researched, they are very good. I've never played one though. They are popular in countries outside the USA.
