Well, yup you read the title correctly
Thanks to Barettacollector for allowing me to buy this from him
I'll leave the provenance below, make your own minds up
This Baretta is the same spec as the “Holy Grail” Baretta’s of the end of 1983, there were only 6 of these ‘83’s built, this one was said to be a prototype of those guitars, below is the back story of the guitar given by Mike Mojabi.
Originally built by Billy Connelly, an employee of Kramer back then, sadly now deceased! Billy sold this on to Mike Mojabi, an enthusiastic Kramer collector, “it was a very early prototype of the 83 Baretta that was at the factory in his shop which he inherited from Paul Unkert. The headstock decal had been partially removed when I got it from Billy”.
“The body was in okay condition but imagine it sitting around in the Kramer custom shop workshop the headstock had a partial logo on it. I'm sure it's legit if it went from Alex to John and then you. I'm sure one of the two of them restored it. I still have another neck and body from Billy that I provided to Gibson to build the 1984”.
So, in reverse order here are all the previous owners –
That’s some kind of history, who knows whether or not it’s all true but it sure makes for an interesting Retta & now it’s all mine!
It has all the correct parts & it's one heavy mofo piece of maple, matt black floyd, Schaller golden 50, Gotoh tuners, no serial on the neck plate.
