Found this pup on Guitar Center used for 450 shipped. The fretboard is real dirty (it was super gross when I got it. Who doesn't clean ANY of their finger gunk off their guitar???), but the neck is nice and smooth w/ a nice satin finish. I don't know what SD is in the bridge, but I'm very pleasantly surprised with how nice it sounds!

Based on what I've read on vintage Kramer, these necks with just the logo were supposed to be satin finished and with late C plates right? This one is C4338. The other thing i find interesting is the two piece maple neck. It's got a real thin fretboard like the rosewood one on the 83 Voyager neck. Anyone seen that before with a maple FB? I thought they all had skunk stripes. It does have some nice birds eyes on there, though. 8)

I'm real happy with this one. It was quite the score. :^)

That be a R5 Sports neck. R2 had the skunk stripe.

I really like the profile on this one compared to the Voyager neck. This one has a flatter back and more shoulder, but still isn't super thin like an Ibanez. It reminds me of my Hamer Scarab neck that I loved from about 5 or 6 years ago.

Thanks for the info! That explains the difference. :toast

I don't think it's a maple body. So maybe not too much extra maple. 8)

He's not a real Big Boy. :beer

The body should be maple, though there were also some alder bodies. Nice score :thumbs

I find those necks a bit too fat for my taste, but they sound awesome. Nice chunk of quality rock maple, gives some crazy sustain.
