New Mutt Day for me :thumbs
This one is an assembly of several parts bought from several forum bros.
So, firstly, big thanks to Mark (Hunter008), Sergej (_XXX_) and Andi (88PCII) for their contribution to the cause :yourock
Here we go:
Sports neck (beak R5), did some work on it:
fitment of a Fender style truss rod nut
Image
Frets removal and fretboard re-shape to 10' radii
Image
Fresh frets install + three coats of true oil

Mapple Deluxe body, did some work as well (not me, a friend of mine who has skills on woodwork):
Lowering of the neck cavity which was a little bit too thick to my taste
Also machining of a notch to enable fitment of the new Fender which protudes a bit.

Found also Schallers PU, probably coming from a Jolana Pacer and put all the relevent hardware. At the end, tadaaahh!!!

This one was very pleasant to built. Neck fits very nicely in the body pocket. No need to dowel, all came aligned perfectly.
As well it plays very nicely, first Sports neck here and I am very pleased with: the profile is very confortable.
Schallers sounds great also, very 80's, which I love.
Only improvement is a brass sustain block.
This thing rocks! A keeper for sure.

Another Beauty! Wow, two cool builds shared on the same day!

Question: What is the best way to identify a Sports beak neck compared to the later ESP beak necks? Sorry for questions but one of the reasons I am here is to learn. Thanks all.

That looks awesome :headbang

@Doc, the headstock shape is unlike the other ones, thus easy to identify

Yes it has a snubbed nose & lack of upturn at the low E side. Also it has an oil finish instead of a klear.
