So, over the last couple of years I've gotten two late-era NOS necks, one a regular, one reverse, both have the headstock/teeth inlays. On the regular, the KRAMER logo at the 12th fret seems merely to be a superficial black "stamp" above the mother of pearl; it is already fading. On the reverse, however, the KRAMER logo is forcefully embossed into the mop – I can get my nail into the grooves.

It is quite obvious that two very different procedures were used; one has stood the test of time better than the other. Is this somehow indicative of their age?
