You´ll find a couple more of those pics in the old place. And keeping in mind how his extensive guitar collection sports more than the usual oddballs these are his more conservative guitars.

Back before Ed came pn board with Kramer, I had arranged with Dennis Berarrdi to have a double neck made. During a phone call to check on the build, Dennis refered me to Tony Costello, who was the new AR manager at Kramer. Tony told me that I could see the guitar in the next month's copy of Life magazine, because Ed had come on board, talking about a double neck, and with a few modifications, they finished the guitar for him! He didn't know that it was supposed to be my guitar until we met in 1987, and I told him the story! The good part of the story is that until Kramer closed, they went out of their way to make it up to me, and I have the honor, and pleasure of being Ed's tech! I've never seen the guitar, ( it's at 5150 somewhere), but happy ending either way!!!

I'm in search of an aluminum neck at this point though! I've had some conversations with Paul Unkert about building one after all these years, and between the two of us, I would think we could pull it off!!!

Cool story! Why do you figure they wanted to use the Lumie neck for the 12 string side, because it was wider, or stiffer, or both, or for the added sustain? Or some other reason, maybe for 12 string the zero fret lets it set up better? Did you spec the lumie neck or was that their idea?

I was used to the aluminum neck, and the conversion to 12 string had successfully been done, so we ran with it!
With regard to Ed's tuning, I'd have to ask which story we're refering to?!?

Still in search of an aluminum neck at this point!!!
