I wonder if you can help me. I bought this guitar some years back and it was one of my first guitars. It plays and sounds great, but is very heavy. I was advised when I bought it that it had a refurb and the body was solid mahogany.

It looks like a striker, but not sure if it is actually a striker or something else.
Serial number is 0811230724
I was struggling to upload pics but happy to email them.
Thanks in advance

Welcome.
With that serial# I’d guess a Gibby era model.

There is no mahogany in any asian models. Some bodies were built with nato (cheap asian mahogany substitute), but those are usually not heavy. It is as well possible that yours is maple or alder, or maybe even plywood.

MusicYo made models were usually maple, if that's what you have.

Take off the neck and post some pics if possible, that might help identifying it. Maybe the wood is visible in the trem recess from the spring cavity side, if you don't want to take off the neck.

Definitely sounds like a Gibson era.
I have a Pacer Classic that starts with an 09.
Does your plate look like this?

Had the spring cavity off and it’s just red in there didn’t fancy taking the neck off I have a Jackson sl2h which I think is alder and a fender USA Strat but this is way heavier.

Any idea of value now? Has a custome
Paint job on it, or sure if that has any value.

It’s in excellent condition.
