Hello,

I bought this guitar in 2011 throught the internet auction.
I didnt check if its a legitimate kramer guitar.

The Neckplate looks original but there is no serial number on it.
There are no numbers on the head.

Is this a fake kramer guitar or some sort of early version of some model?

All Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome.
This may be a Jolana built guitar with some Kramer & Schaller bits. shrug
Jolana Czech was where a factory was producing some Kramers after Neptune had closed using Kramer parts & Schaller hardware & electronics.
It was arranged by Schaller to recoup some money that Kramer owed them.

Doesn't look like one to me. Jolana were all 22 frets, never 24. Only Pacers and Barettas made there, always with recessed trem. Thinned out neck joint is also an unknown in the Kramer universe.

Non-Kramer block inlay at the 12th fret is also strange and the headstock logo looks a bit too big.

IMO not a Kramer, though one can never be 100% sure. Could be one of those rare 24-fret necks on some non-Kramer body (asian Jackson, Charvel?). Or an Aria neck re-logoed.

Welcome to KF :toast .

Besides the neck plate that looks like one Jolana used to use I can´t see much Kramer about this axe. Wrong body shape, wrong headstock shape, ... shrug .

Kramer Logo does not fit the headstock.

Does the inlay in the 12th fret say "Explorer"? Can´t really decipher that scratch_head .

I don't believe that Kramer logo is even legit. The letter style is off.

Kramer has never had an Explorer model, definitely not in name.

All this aside, I really dig the looks of this axe it looks like a player and a half. How does it feel to you?

I never said it was a Kramer built In Jolana.
I said it may have been built in Jolana with Kramer bits.
But yes, its not a Kramer.

My thought too. Might be slapped together from parts of one or more of the companies Jolana put guitars together for. I don´t remember the names but these were various Kramer knock-offs and other assorted copies with more or less fancy names.

It looks like a Yo era headstock but I don't remember seeing them with that inlay on the 12th fret. It's most likely, and this is only my opinion, a bad copy of a guitar that was never made by a company that never made a guitar such as Kramer.
