Funny you should bring up the topic as I snuck a 12-string left handed Telecaster copy into the house last night that I intercepted from Fedex while she was out on an errand last night that was in my car trunk for a week. EBay make an offer and did not expect to win. Next time she is not around I will post some pics.

To address the question; there really is no need for a guy that does not play out to really own 18 left handed guitars/ basses for personal use. The way it works around here is that if she finds out I got another one then she gets to buy something for her. shrug

I am a lefty. I have limited opportunities. So be it.

I keep my guitar purchase money separate from the family money. If I sell a guitar, it goes into my desk. It keeps me from overspending, and it eliminates any arguments.

A few years ago, I broke down and gave her the money from a guitar sale, because we needed it for some property tax, or water bill, etc. I don't remember which. I said that I'd do it, but wanted the money back when the tax check came.

The tax check came, and she (conveniently) completely forgot about the guitar money. That was the last time that the 2 shall meet (other than a real emergency).

LOL, those are like one in a million. Even then, it's mostly just a temporary condition...

Careful. I have reason to believe a Russian mail-order-wife will most likely be smarter than you and probably a KGB agent. Sergej is probably smarter than me, but the one acquaintance I met had a Russian bride that was fluent in seven languages and he was a cabinet maker. Hopefully it worked out for him......but I wonder.

Sorry to completely get us sidetracked, and even though it was meant as humorous, I got kinda serious.

Every big country has spies everywhere, but I doubt they'd bother with us ordinary people. Also there is no KGB any more... Successor agency is called FSB nowadays ;)

BTW I'm not a Russian, just had a russian grand-grandpa. Would like to go there as a tourist some day, but I'll wait till the political nonsense settles a bit. Probably it'll take a few years though...

I've never really had to do this. Back when I could afford to get more stuff. I would tell my wife most of the time. And never really hid it. Now that I'm in a different situation. I can't say I've told her about all purchases but I didn't out and out lie. Might have just snuck a package in here and there. shrug

I have so many. she doesn't recognize if it's new or not. When I got my SG, I had it laying on the dining room table. oiling the board and changing the pc board to real electronics, and she had no idea it was a new one. She wouldn't give a shit, anyway.
