6 months waiting for this

Ok so i bought a voyager several years ago and never really got on with the body and pickup but loved the neck - so after much deliberation decided it was time to use the neck for a strat build. The body of the voyager was really rough but the neck was superb and the brass trem was utilised in the new build :
Image
The neck had a big chunk missing out of the headstock but the luthier who carried out the build - Steve Preston from Wyre River Guitars - made a superb repair,
The neck donor Voyager is pictured next to the strat build.
The pickups are seymour duncan ssl1 and it sounds every bit as good as a usa strat imho.
The body is a hand built single piece of alder which was picked from a choice of several blanks - i will post a pic of the new herd shortly which has changed radically since i joined the forum 10 years ago with just one guitar

Nothing sexier than a strat head with a Kramer logo...oh my! :toast
Certainly the herd has not changed so drastically that it does not include the Liberty>>>>> :yikes :yikes :yikes

Looks great. :thumbs

Hadn't heard of Wyre River Guitars which is odd considering I'm from that neck of the woods.

hi 80schris
Wyre River guitars is a very small concern in Blackpool UK - its run by a luthier called Steve Preston who i believe is now in his seventies.
I only discovered him from a neighbour who had some Fender Banjo's and had taken them to Steve for set up. He did a refret on my Les Paul Deluxe about 2 years ago and i was really happy with his work and his charges. He doesnt do any advertising - in fact last time i spoke with him he wasnt on the internet! i ask him to do all my guitar work now - he did a fret dress on the liberty recently and it plays better than it ever has.
I really feel quite fortunate to have had the build done by him cos i think he only builds a few guitars each year - and as the thred title says it was 6 months before i got the guitar finished
but certainly worth the wait.
