Disclaimer: I am a KISS fan boy.

When I was 8 years old (78) a friend gave me a tape of them. Until then I was heavily into the Bee Gees and ABBA - I still like their stuff and consider it some of the best pop music ever written but that´s another story.

KISS instantly opened my mind to Rock and Roll. My first vinyl was Double Platinum and I made my mom buy me ALIVE II for Christmas that same year. She wasn´t too happy about the pics on it to say the least - but she digged some of the music. When they took off the make up a couple years later it came as a shock as much as losing Ace (who didn´t play that much and often needed Bob Kulick to clean up in the studio) and Peter.

But to me the line up of those middle years with Bruce and Eric still is great. Eric was such a monster to have behind his gigantic drum set. And him singing Black Diamond still gives me the chills.

Found this from the Monsters Of Rock 88 and thought you might like it too. Paul was at his prime voice wise and the show they put on there is a sight for sore eyes (if you like KISS, that is, of course). Bruce warms up nicely during the course of the gig.

Sorry, if my reminiscing is boring for you shrug .

First record I ever bought was Kiss Alive. Paid $4.19 for it at Gold Circle. Saw them five times all together with the original lineup. Two of those were front row for the Dynasty Tour two nights in a row. When Peter and Ace left, I was done. Paid $8 the first time I saw them in '78 or '79.
