You could call Boney M a manufactured band but certainly not ABBA. ABBA were awesome. :thumbs

Word :thumbs .

The amount of prodigiously talented musicians/bands coming from Sweden or other Scandinavian countries for the last 50 years is stunning.

I agree with a lot of what _xxx_ is saying.

IMO ... the decline of music (or even the arts) started just as soon as someone CREATED something from scratch ... and someone else coveted it for whatever reason.

It is up to us as people/audience to discern between the two.

Further, it is totally debatable whether or not we need what came before in order to learn and/or to move past it. I personally think it's LAZINESS, shortsightedness, and fear ... that we think we need to do what already has been done.

If one is interested in making PRODUCT and posing, then please carry on with the incest and copying.

If one is interested in *originality*, more often than not they ignore what is current or what came before.

*ORIGINALITY* is cool ... copying what already exists is lame and WEAK.

Forgot who said it ... we are all born originals, but most will die as copies.

It's a choice.

I don't think anyone said it better than this.

“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.”

― Hunter S. Thompson
