Thought I would share.
I picked up few cool pieces for a custom Kramer inspired build I am working on. It all started when I found an 80's, 1 of a kind, hand made, 1 piece, quilt maple, HSS guitar body on Reverb for only $60.00.
It was beat up a little. It was played for 30+ years. It had a ton of red stain and clear coat. I stripped the red off, and was amazed at what was underneath. An amazing 1 piece quilt maple body. It needs some of the routing cleaned up and sanded. Then a oil finish.
I then set off to find a neck. I found an AMAZING neck by a custom luthier. The neck has a couple decades on it, but is in like NEW condition. I found the neck on Ebay and for $240.00 it was a STEAL. You will see. This neck would have cost 3 times as much from Warmoth. It has 1 5/8 in nut width and is cut to fit an R2 Floyd Rose nut, 25 1/2 inch scale length. It has a 12' fingerboard radius. C shape. It also has the standard 2 3/16 heel width so it should fit most strat style and most definitely fits 1983 thru 1985 Kramer Baretta bodies! It had 90 degree mini Schallers installed, dot inlays, 22 Medium Dunlap 6105 frets and an accurate dual acting truss rod that adjusts in the heel. There is a very high quality hand rubbed oil finish on this neck.
I found an ORIGINAL Kramer Floyd Rose from the 80's still in the box.
The plan is to put in some Duncan's. I am going to use a custom shop 78, and 2 Vintage Rails.
This is going to take a while to get done because of the holidays.
Anyway. Here are some pic's. Lot's of pic's.
Looks badass ,winder how it wld look just clear coated with a vintage clear satin, really make that maple flamr pop!!
