After cleaning, polishing, steel wool treatment for the frets etc. and with new set of 9's, it's absolute killer. Plays like butter and fits like a glove. Much different sound than the Standard, less "warm" and with more aggressive mids, I guess due to the maple top. I realy like the Dragon pickups. In sum the Standard sounds a bit sweeter/warmer like Santana tone, while this one has more bite and presence. Plays way better though, it may become my new #2 (because still nothing touches my GKG Illusionist with custom made neck from a local luthier).
Now I have to find some time for the four projects left... the beautiful Carvin neck from Doc will probably end up on my sunburst Pacer Imp, the US Epi Pro still needs a refinish (LOTS of sanding involved) and two other axes need some fret leveling. Too lazy right now, maybe in a few weeks during the holidays.
Oh yeah - if you ever deal with Lighthouse Sound, I can warmly recommend them. I recently posted a Valley Arts axe from one of their auctions. They're really friendly and the guy made me a really good offer with this one, I don't even dare telling you what I paid for this axe. Also answered all my questions, sent me extra pics, got his tech to check the neck etc etc. - top-notch service
