Jim, you'll have to call me some time. I know a little about charvel.
And I own several killer ones. The Japanese stuff is awesome.

What Charvel do you own? I have model series, toothpaste logo, custom shop, promod and my first guitar the CSM1-G. Love them all.

I own 2 toothpaste 650xls and a 750xl. :thumbs

Straight top of the line! Those are great guitars. Do you have the Floyd or the fixed bridge on the 750? I have been looking for a solid 750 for a while now. Just can’t stand to spend $1700 on a beat up guitar. The 650s are great as well, if you are ever looking to get rid of one let me know.

Thanks, fellas! I communicated with the girl who owns this, she seems straightforward and genuine, says this is MIJ, she purchased new in 91 or 92, and apparently it didn't get played much. It has Grover tuners if that means anything. There is some finish checking between the pickups, presumably from temp changes while she had it in storage. I can get it for a buck fifty. I was set to pick it up last week, but then she had family emergency and had to fly to deal with that, so the plan is she will contact me when she gets back. For the price, it seems like a no-brainer way to get introduced to this brand. Worst case scenario I'll yank the neck and put it on something else with a Floyd.
I appreciate you guys for the information and encouragement.

I think you will be very happy with the guitar for the price. You will need a pickup swap at a minimum.

My 750 has the trem. I doubt if i'd get rid of any of these. But Ken is in line before you. He is always asking about my 650's.

If anyone is looking for a new Charvel this is a good deal. Mint looking 375 for $350. As stated in other threads, 80s / 90s guitar prices are getting stupid, but this one is very fair. Schaller Floyd, looks like it could be some kind of Duncan in the bridge and a well made Japanese guitar.

I like the necks; slim, fast, one-piece, gotoh tuners (at least on some), MIJ. I want to say more Ibanez-like in shape than anything else I can think of. If I'm not mistaken, these have Fender screw spacing too. Enjoy!

Probably too much, looking at that dumb description. "Les Paul Killer", wtf did the guy smoke? That's not apples to oranges, more like peaches to watermelons :roll

Nice axe though.

More my style than a Les Paul but I still run a mile when I see stripy maple, it seems such a cliche now.
