On the other hand, ... someone made it the perfect tool for his work or his hobby. If said person was lucky with it and its functionality that´s all that matters - in the end that´s what any tool is made for shrug .

:rant That other hand can go jam it up this tool makers ass!
This abomination is just wrong....esp on this forum. Can’t defend stupid. :rant

I’m actually watching this one. Could be a good project and if it doesn’t work out, it’s worth it in parts unless this gets bid up.

I have done this type of repair before.
See my Roadkill Les Paul. LoL.
It takes a lot of time, patience, and skill to restore a guitar that has been messed up like this. This will be a large under taking for anyone wanting to restore this guitar.
I can Imagine the worst under that pick guard. I would not be surprised if it was all drilled, and chiseled out.
If someone did restore it correctly you would still have a refinished guitar. I know refinishing can hurt the value of other vintage instruments.
I hate to say it. This one might be too far gone.
I would also love to get it, and try and save it.
I have so many guitar projects at this time, I might have to make myself pass on this, but it is calling my name. Lol.

As said before, would’ve been far easier to buy a factory ready guitar with similar mods than to tear this one up. :bang :stupid :cen :bs :nono

Well the price got real stupid, fast. As much as I want that neck, I can't pay what this will go for. :bang

It's become known that the whole thing is indeed a Grail, so...$$$, LOL.

Just no. Not a fan of R5 is the main thing though. If Grails were at least R2 I'd bother trying one.
