Not a JK.

Someone already harvested the OFR...

Nothing to see here, move along.

That is a legit JK2000.
If that had the original Floyd, that would sell in an instant, I am sure.
Proof that the neck is original, and that beaks were very common:

I have seen many different JK necks that were beaks.

I am not wanting to fuel any snarky back and forth.
I am wanting to take this opportunity to learn more about the JK Kramers. I know a bunch about Focus series, as I've had a bunch. I also think my knowledge is getting there regarding the myriad nuances of "USA" Kramers throughout the 80s, especially as I've been starting to collect these and also learning a lot from my luthier friend about them. But I don't know shit about the "JK" (Japan-only market?) Kramers, never paid attention to them at all, never had one, so this could be a good learning opportunity.

First question, If we take for granted that this is a legit ESP-made neck and body (with OFR removed), then what would be the difference between this and a F2000?

I've got 2 F2000 right now, paid $245 for one in very good condition with OFR intact. I paid well under 2 bills for the other one in aesthetically rough but perfectly playable condition, and again with OFR intact. So that pretty much is my expected price range for a typical Focus guitar.

Does a JK2000 offer any advantages over the F2000 that would justify paying a higher price, and if so, what are they?

Doc, I am right with ya, I am curious what the difference between a F2000 and a JK2000 is.
There definitely is not much info about them out there, that is for sure.

Typically the J refers to Japan market. The rest (2000 etc ) with similar appts to their Focus counterparts.
One oddity is this guy....

Quite a few jk's had 1/4 sawn necks,i think they paid a lil better attention to detail and parts and wood on there japan only guitars, dont know for sure thats what i was told, along time ago, thats why i posted in the first place.

Right or wrong idk, just thought it wld be nice to own a jk instead of focus, especially with the beak neck.

I havent seen any complete focus's under 400 lately in excllent condition.

The big plus with JKs is you can get maple boards, which you don't see with the Focus guitars. A maple board JK1000 looks way more "Van Halen" than a Baretta or Focus 1000. The other difference seems to be not all JKs had Floyds, some came with Takeuchi trems.

Nothing wrong with this one :nono

Even the trem maybe correct not all JK series guitars had an OFR, they were fitted with Takeuchi's too, which this one has! All good :thumbs
