Sure, if you go single ended! That's how my plexi build originally started.

It was a single 6v6 for about 8ish watts, then upgraded to allow for an el34 for a bit more (12ish?), then a 6550 (15ish???), then I added a second power tube socket dielaughing . Now it's sitting with 2 el34s in it, still single ended mind you so I can always rip one out for lower volume, but is probably pushing around 20-25ish watts?

It's not a very hard task to take on either if you go cathode bias in the power amp. If you think of an amp circuit as a building block consisting of a Preamp, Tonestack (including cathode follower/etc.), and poweramp (including the phase inverter if going for a PP amp), it really simplifies things and gives you a much greater appreciation towards what you can do in terms of combining different ideas.

You can take any preamp you want, for the most part, and pair it up with any poweramp you want (again for the most part), so taking a Plexi preamp circuit, which we'd say stop just before it enters the Phase inverter, and then running that out into a Single Ended el34 stage, we can get a pretty cool, albeit not 100% plexi authentic amp.

Check this guy out. https://chasingtone.com/the-seplex/

He has some cool projects.
